The Gann Fire that’s been raging in Northern California is now 72-percent contained after scorching over ten-thousand acres and killing one person.

Fire activity is now minimal and crews are starting to focus on mop-up operations. Firefighters will be aided by slightly cooler weather that continues through the week.

A 65-year-old man is facing charges for allegedly starting the fire. Herbert Wayne Smith says he was cutting scrap metal when the fire started a week ago. Eight years ago, he pleaded no contest in another case where he started a fire.
