County is one of 30 Texas counties that are mapping out where to place outdoor flash flood warning sirens. After the deadly 2025 Hill Country floods, the Legislature passed Senate Bill Three during a special session.

The law makes 50 million dollars available for counties to install the sirens. The counties eligible for the funds were part of Governor Greg Abbott’s disaster declaration in July 2025. Comal, Kendall, Guadalupe and Bandera Counties are also on the list, along with two dozen others.
