Governor Greg Abbott is requesting a disaster declaration from the Small Business Administration for Bexar County and other areas hit by heavy weather last month.
Severe thunderstorms ripped through the San Antonio area on August 28th, producing wind gusts of nearly 80 mph and causing damage across the county.
The storms cause widespread power outages and street flooding. If it’s approved, the disaster declaration will make federal assistance available through disaster loans.
