A tropical storm making its way through the Gulf is not expected to have a significant impact on South Texas.

The National Weather Service says Tropical Storm Bertha will land along the Louisiana-Upper Texas coastline in the next few days. Rough surf and elevated tides could happen along the South Texas coastline until Bertha dissipates.

The City of Alamo wants residents to be prepared for potential problems and is distributing sandbags at several locations through the end of the week.
