Bible In Schools

There’s a push in Texas to put prayer back in schools. Legislation would allow school districts to vote on whether they want to set aside time to allow kids to read from the Bible or other religious texts.

State Representative David Spiller says participation would be voluntary, and families would need to opt in. It’s already passed in the State Senate, where backers say it was crafted to make sure it does not impinge on anyone’s religious beliefs, or lack of belief.
