A Texas mom who locked her seven-year-old daughter in a closet for one month has started a 25-year prison sentence. Virginia Gonzales of Austin was convicted of injury to a child.
A welfare check found that child weighing just 29 pounds. That’s according to an arrest affidavit, which revealed the girl was given one corn dog and a half cup of water daily. Six other children, also living in the apartment, were in good physical condition, it noted.
