By State Representative Gina Hinojosa says she’ll work to send every Texas household a check for 15-hundred dollars if she’s elected governor.
The Austin Democrat is challenging Governor Greg Abbott in November’s election.
On Tuesday, Hinojosa said she would declare an affordability emergency on her first day in office. She would then call on legislators to approve pulling 17 billion dollars out of the state’s 27-billion-dollar rainy day fund to cover the checks.
