The Bexar County Elections Department is dealing with a backlog of six thousand voter registration applications.
San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones said last week the backlog was four thousand, but on Tuesday she said the number has grown as the deadline to register to vote approaches.
The department is blaming the Texas Secretary of State’s software for the slowdown in processing registrations, but said they will all be processed in time for the primary election on March 3rd.
