Texas republicans are defending a re-drawing of the state’s congressional boundaries.

State Representative Katrina Pierson says it’s needed to keep up with voting trends. She points to the border with Mexico. Hispanics have increasingly been voting for President Trump.

The proposed maps, she says, reflects that. Experts say, if the boundaries are approved, it’s likely the GOP will pick up a pair of congressional seats in South Texas.
