U.S. Customs and Border Protection says South Texas inspectors recently seized a load of guns that were being illegally transported into Mexico.
Inspectors at the Anzalduas International Bridge in Mission became suspicious on Sunday when a vehicle with a fake license plate tried to leave the U.S. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 17 handguns, six rifles and several ammunition magazines.
Saturnino Larios was charged with unlawfully trying to export the weapons to Mexico. He’s scheduled to have his preliminary and detention hearings later today.
