Several people are recovering after a bee attack in the Willacy County community of Lyford. The county’s Emergency Management Coordinator says the bee attack happened just before 11 a.m. Monday at a home on Dario Street.
First responders went to the scene and found a beehive across the street under an old storage shed. It was removed, but residents were advised to avoid the area. About a half-dozen people were stung, including Lyford’s police chief. One person was reportedly stung over 500 times.
