A Hidalgo County judge is denying a motion to dismiss in a lawsuit claiming the wrongful death of a Weslaco teen. The family of Larissa Rodriguez has sued Glazer’s Beer and Beverage, claiming the drink distributor was at least partially responsible for the teen’s death last year.
Rodriguez died from an enlarged heart that’s been blamed on an energy drink distributed by Glazer’s. The company asked the judge to dismiss the lawsuit earlier this week, but the judge denied the motion on Wednesday.
An attorney representing the company says the decision will be appealed.
