Multiple Rio Grande Valley communities will be celebrating America’s 250th birthday this weekend. Mercedes will be holding a fireworks and drone show at the Mercedes Dome tonight.
McAllen and Edinburg will both have special July 4th running events tomorrow morning. McAllen’s July 4th parade starts at 9 a.m., followed by the Freedom Festival and a fireworks show at 9 p.m.
Edinburg will host the Texas Cook’em: High Steaks event, followed by the H-E-B Sizzle and Stripes Fireworks Show at 10 p.m.
Other cities holding July 4th fireworks shows include Brownsville, Harlingen, South Padre Island, Pharr, La Joya and Weslaco.
