Karmelo Anthony is appealing his murder conviction. Anthony filed a notice of appeal on Wednesday, the day after a Collin County jury found him guilty of murdering Austin Metcalf and sent him to prison for 35 years. His appeal document says he has no money and wants the judge to appoint him an appeals attorney.
Several GoFundMe campaigns were set up for Anthony’s legal defense, but the platform shut them down for violating policies against raising money for the defense of violent crimes.
