Karmelo Anthony is sentenced to 35 years in prison after his murder conviction. On Tuesday, a jury found Anthony guilty of stabbing and killing 17-year-old Austin Metcalf during a confrontation at a high school track meet in Frisco last year.

The jury in the Dallas suburb of McKinney didn’t buy the defense’s claim of self-defense. Anthony will have to serve at least half the sentence before he’s eligible for parole.
