A man accused of shooting at law enforcement during a drug raid in Donna is now facing federal charges. Thirty-three-year-old Michael Cura was taken into federal custody on Monday.

The Edinburg man was arrested earlier this month on five counts of attempted murder of a peace officer. Federal investigators have added a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. He was convicted of the same charge after a 2018 arrest and was sentenced to nearly seven years in prison.
