Texas will soon lead the nation in power plants built to run data centers. The state will be home to 32 of at least 74 natural gas-fired power plants planned nationwide to supply electricity for data centers.

Texas is attracting more of these projects than any other state because of its inexpensive land and business-friendly environment. The power plants are planned for Bexar, Comal, Anderson, Pecos, Caldwell, and other Texas counties.
