Tropical Storm Bertha is moving westward this morning, near the Louisiana coast as it heads toward Texas. The National Hurricane Center says Bertha is about 145 miles west-southwest of New Orleans packing maximum sustained winds of 45 miles per hour.

The storm is expected to make landfall in Texas sometime this afternoon and move further inland this evening, and is expected to maintain intensity until it starts moving over land.
