The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a weekend crash that left two young people with critical injuries.
The crash happened Sunday on Highway 48 near the Jaime J. Zapata Memorial Boat Ramp in Cameron County. A father was reportedly helping the two young people jumpstart their vehicle when they were hit by another.
The driver left the scene of the crash but was located by DPS and reportedly confessed. Charges in the case are pending.
