Wall Street is opening sharply lower as conflict rages in the Middle East. Stocks plunged as oil prices surged with fears of prolonged supply disruptions rattling global markets.

The jump in energy prices boosted Treasury yields on worries it may drive up inflation adding to the economic uncertainty. At the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell more than 800 points. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq were also sharply lower to start the session.
