A judge is denying bond for a man accused of killing three members of his family last month in Alton. Nineteen-year-old Gaurav Chopra is accused of killing his father, mother and grandmother and attempting to kill his brother on June 16th.

Chopra’s bond for attempted capital murder was set at 250-thousand dollars last week, but yesterday’s hearing centered on the three counts of capital murder that he’s facing.

The judge denied bond after deciding that Chopra is a flight risk, but told his lawyers that they could appeal the decision.
