Homeland Security is investigating after an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent shot and killed an illegal immigrant in east Houston.
Around 7 a.m. Tuesday, ICE agents tried to stop and arrest Lorenzo Araujo on Canal Street near Wayside. ICE describes Araujo as a Mexican national who was in the U.S. illegally.
Araujo reportedly drove away from the attempted traffic stop, rammed an ICE vehicle, and tried to run over an ICE agent, who shot him. He was pronounced dead at Ben Taub Hospital.
