By Drivers are being warned about a construction project that could impact traffic in the Alton area.
The Texas Department of Transportation has begun reconstruction work on the east side of the intersection of FM 494 and Mile Four East.
The three-month project is part of the Shary Road Widening Project, which will improve the intersection and install new sidewalks, ramps and traffic signals. Drivers should follow detour signs or find alternative routes.
