Weather forecasters are now expecting five to ten inches of rain to fall in South Texas before it stops later this week.
The National Weather Service has extended a flood watch for the region until Thursday morning. Flooding was reported in several places Monday, and some area school districts canceled Tuesday’s scheduled classes due to the potential for severe weather.
The weather service says some areas of South Texas may get more than 12 inches of precipitation before the rain stops.
