Gulf Cartel Member Arrested For Human Trafficking In Starr County

(Starr County, TX) — Authorities have arrested an alleged Gulf Cartel member on human trafficking charges. Twenty-four-year-old Juan Gonzalez was arrested after refusing to stop for a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper on Tuesday in Rio Grande City. Three passengers in Gonzalez’s vehicle were identified as being in the U.S. illegally. Investigators later confirmed that Gonzalez was a member of the Gulf Cartel. He’s been charged with multiple counts of human smuggling and evading arrest.
