A new park will be built near two elementary schools in Edinburg. Hidalgo County and Edinburg school district leaders broke ground on the new park on South Chavez Road on Wednesday. The land is located between Betts Elementary and Esparza Elementary and is being used through a partnership between the school district and Hidalgo County Precinct Four. The four-point-five-million-dollar project will include a splash pad, trails, an inclusive playground and other features.
