A man is pleading guilty to his role in the death of a Mission woman in 2023. Kristian Valenzuela, Junior pleaded guilty to murder yesterday in a Hidalgo County courtroom.
Valenzuela admitted to helping cover up the death of 40-year-old Editza Gomez nearly two years ago. His agreement with prosecutors requires him to testify against Reynaldo Mercado the Third, the man accused of shooting and killing Gomez and then hiding her body in an attic. Valenzuela is facing 30 years in prison when he is sentenced in October.
