San Benito’s city manager has decided to resign. City Manager Fred Sandoval submitted a letter of resignation to the city this week, saying it would be effective at 5 p.m. today.

Sandoval told My-RGV-dot-com that he was resigning because he doesn’t have the support of the entire commission. The city commission will hold a special meeting on Tuesday to determine whether to accept the resignation and to discuss appointing an interim city manager.
