The City of San Benito has named an interim city manager following the resignation of Fred Sandoval.

City commissioners met Tuesday to discuss Sandoval’s resignation. They emerged from executive session to announce that Carlos Yerena would immediately begin serving as interim city manager.

Mayor Pete Galvan praised Yerena’s experience and commitment to public service, saying he would be a strong fit for the city.
