By The mayor of Palm Valley has resigned following the firing of the city’s administrator.
Michael Galvan blasted the city council in his resignation letter, saying it was shameful that the council gave no reason for the termination of City Administrator Rendie Gonzalez. He also said he could no longer stomach being the mayor of a “rogue” city council that supported an employee with many instances of lies and insubordination rather than retaining Gonzalez.
Galvan may have been referring to Police Chief Nikki Daniell, who reportedly clashed with Gonzalez before the city administrator was fired. Galvan’s resignation took effect on Sunday.
