A suspect is in critical condition after an officer-involved shooting in Edinburg. Police were called to the two-thousand block of Joy Street around 1:30 p.m. yesterday to investigate a disturbance call.

A man met them at the door and displayed a weapon, prompting at least one officer to fire. The suspect barricaded himself inside the home until he was convinced to surrender.

The man was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. The Texas Rangers are leading the shooting investigation.
