A truck driver from New York is charged with manslaughter after a crash on I-30 in Mesquite that killed a Garland woman.
Officers responded around 3:15 a.m. Friday to the two-vehicle crash on the freeway. Investigators say the accident involved an SUV and a Freightliner truck hauling a trailer on the exit ramp from I-30 westbound to I-635 northbound.
The SUV driver, identified as Lisa Maldonado, died at a local hospital. The trucker, Khasan Begbaev, wasn’t injured and stayed at the scene. He was arrested for manslaughter.
