Governor Greg Abbott ordered heightened security measures on Saturday, directing the Texas National Guard and the Texas Department of Public Safety to increase monitoring and patrols at key sites, such as energy facilities, ports, and the southern border.
Abbott says the state is coordinating its efforts with federal agencies to protect against potential retaliatory threats.
