A suspect is in custody after a bank robbery in Brownsville. Police were called to the 23-hundred block of Boca Chica Boulevard Monday morning after a robbery was reported at a Chase Bank branch.
The suspect reportedly took over five-thousand-dollars from the branch and then tried to escape. Police arrested 45-year-old Eliud Escobedo a short time later. The stolen money was also recovered. Escobedo is being held pending a bail hearing.
