Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo wants the commissioners court to discuss questions that have arisen about the county’s use of Flock cameras.
Hidalgo is calling for county commissioners to hold a special meeting for a public discussion about automated license plate readers. She acknowledged that the technology has helped solve crimes and save lives, but said the system can be abused to track or stalk people.
The county renewed its contract with Flock at the end of May for one year, at a cost of nearly 869 thousand dollars.
