Several members of the San Antonio City Council want to take a close look at the utility needs of an ICE detention facility on the East Side.

A City Council Consideration Request calls on CPS Energy and the San Antonio Water System to assess the water, sewer, and electricity requirements of the project.

The warehouse is federal government property, and is expected to house between a thousand and 15 hundred detainees. The acting director of ICE has said the detention center could be operating by next spring.
