Texas GOP congressional candidate Zeke Enriquez is in hot water for betting on the outcome of his own election on an online prediction market.
The platform, called Kalshi, announced on Wednesday that Enriquez traded less than 100 dollars’ worth of contracts related to his own primary candidacy for Texas’ 21st Congressional District.
Enriquez finished 11th in the primary with 1.4 percent of the vote. Kalshi fined him 784 dollars and suspended him from the platform for five years. Enriquez reportedly cooperated with the investigation.
