The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley is exploring the creation of a collegiate high school with the South Texas Independent School District.

Officials signed an agreement to begin planning for the school on Tuesday. The new campus would be modeled after other collegiate schools in Harlingen, Edinburg and McAllen. Planning is still in the early stages, and a location for the school has not been chosen.
