The Pharr International Bridge has been named the top crossing for produce in the United States. The city announced the achievement during a ceremony Thursday. Seventy percent of all avocados entering the U.S. cross the Pharr bridge.

Officials say about 110 thousand shipments of produce use the bridge each year, a number that could grow when the bridge expands in November.
