Family Okay After Fire Destroys Home Near Donna

A Hidalgo County family is okay after a fire destroyed their home Thursday. First responders were called to the home near the corner of Minnesota and Val Verde roads north of Donna around 2:30 a.m.

Investigators say the house burned after a palm tree touched a power line and caught fire. Eight people were displaced by the fire.
