The National Weather Service says dangerous heat will be a problem in South Texas into next week. Feels-like temperatures in the Rio Grande Valley will be more than 110 degrees in some places today, and will climb even higher over the weekend.

Those looking to catch a break from the heat may want to head to South Padre Island, where the heat index should be in the upper 90s through Monday.

Anyone who needs to be outdoors is advised to stay hydrated and watch for signs of heat illness.
