A South Texas federal judge is expected to rule today on Minnesota’s request to extradite an ICE agent who is currently in custody in Cameron County.
U.S. District Court Judge Fernando Rodriguez heard arguments about the extradition of Christian Castro yesterday. Castro is wanted on assault charges connected to a January shooting in Minneapolis.
Minnesota has requested an injunction to keep Castro in jail pending extradition, though the judge said yesterday that he is not inclined to grant that request.
