The City of Mission has ended a moratorium on new car washes about five months earlier than intended. The moratorium was enacted on March 24th and then repealed on Tuesday. That’s the same day a federal judge dismissed a lawsuit calling the moratorium invalid and unenforceable.
One of the plaintiffs in the lawsuit accused the city of trying to target his business interests because he is running for mayor. A city spokesperson refused to comment on the dismissal of the lawsuit.
