A South Texas man has been sentenced to ten years in federal prison for human smuggling. The U.S. Attorney’s Office announced the sentence for 21-year-old Jesus “Chuy” Grimaldo yesterday.

Investigators said Grimaldo was part of a conspiracy that smuggled more than 100 people into the United States, recklessly placing them in danger of injury or death. He’ll serve three years of supervised release once he gets out of prison.
