Dallas Area Rapid Transit is getting a federal grant to help enhance safety ahead of next year’s FIFA World Cup.

DART officials say they’ve received more than 436-thousand dollars from FEMA to help boost security during big events.

FIFA representatives were in Dallas over the weekend to see how DART handles events like the Red River Rivalry. AT&T Stadium is scheduled to host nine matches during next year’s World Cup.
